Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry group is led by our First Lady, Christy Griffith.

Within this group, our ladies have an opportunity to minister to one another, plan church fellowship events and participate in outreach events.

What Ministers to a Woman?

Today like never before, women are hurting. They are overwhelmed with responsibilities and inundated with lies. Many come from unhealthy and dysfunctional backgrounds that have left them ill-equipped to handle life’s pressures. Due to heavy responsibilities and dissolving families, many women feel isolated and lonely.

When a woman walks into a church, she is looking for someone to care, encourage, and listen to her—she desperately needs the Body of Christ. She wants to know that she is not alone, and she needs the hope that a personal relationship with Jesus can provide.

While sermons can challenge and inspire a woman, genuine life-change happens when someone enters her emotional world, connects with her, and encourages her on a personal level. She experiences the most growth within relationships that provide empathy, presence, conversation, and emotional connection.

The Bible tells us that women are the best models of godly behavior for other women (Titus 2). Women understand women. Ministry to women, by women, is a vital part of a healthy congregation.

Ezekiel 22:30 ~ And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. (KJV)

What is a gap? By definition, a gap represents a place of weakness or vulnerability. A gap is a defenseless location of exposure, where people face real threats.

Nehemiah 4:6-7 ~ So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, (KJV)

God wants you involved in what He is doing. You don’t have to measure up to any other person’s standard. You just have to follow Him. Do you have a mind to work for God?

(Note: If a sermon you are looking for is no longer available, we can provide you with a CD copy. Simply send an email to info@wordoflifeag.net with the sermon date and title.)

Legacy Kids

The mission of our children’s ministries is to instill Biblical values and to create a firm spiritual foundation for our kids and youth for the rest of their lives.

Legacy Kids logo with verseWe take this very seriously and are very careful with the curriculum that we choose for each of our classes. By using Biblical readings, arts & crafts projects, singing songs, Christian video lessons, prayer time, and life application teachings, our teachers are developing the Christian knowledge base of our students.

In doing this, we are creating a spiritual legacy within our families and within the church, so that our children will have a firm foundation of truth that will help them deal with the sinful world that they live in. A truth that they can pass onto their families and use throughout their lives.

This is why children’s and youth ministries on Wednesday nights and children’s church on Sunday mornings are so important.
